Constitutional Law - have we reached the point in this crisis that we all need to become conversant with the United States Constitution? Yes, we have. If you don't already know it, learn it - quickly. Your freedom may depend on it. Click here to download a copy.
Restrictions on Freedom of Religion - California's Draconian edicts restricting assembling of worship groups and singing in church are absolutely unconstitutional. Nevada's restrictions are similar, finding acceptance for those in the entertainment and gambling industries to have large groups in the same facility, but if the purpose is the free worship of Jesus - sorry, buddy, you better go on home now. For your own safety... (Looking for an historical example? - see Nazi Germany under Hitler and the National Socialist Party.) |
In South Carolina, Governor McMaster has extended the state of emergency order multiple times. However, this TEMPORARY emergency authority was never intended to be unending; rather, the SC legislature is supposed to approve any subsequent state of emergency orders beyond the first fifteen days. These continuing states of emergency haven't been approved and are therefore illegal.
There's a larger purpose of the state of emergency - it gives additional powers to local authorities as well. Instead of following normal procedures for enacting local laws and ordinances, the state of emergency allows the municipalities to act on a single reading, instead of getting public input over a reasonable period of time. (Example: mask ordinances.) And, the state of emergency makes the governor much more powerful than normal. If you read the executive orders for these states of emergency, they contain much more than is reported.

When in the history of the United States has it ever been necessary to close down the economy? Never. While we've experienced numerous epidemics and even a few pandemics, authorities have never attempted to restrict our population to the point that we see today.
Millions of small business people have been destroyed by the incompetence of the WHO and the CDC. Moving people to dependence on the government is the beginning of the end of our way of life.
If it's not enough to decimate small businesses, why not just go ahead and let the government dictate what you can do in your private life or in your decisions for worship? If you think it would never happen in America, check out this news story from August, 2020 from Los Angeles, California:
